ASCO Debrief: It’s All About Your Genetic Markers, and More

After a couple of COVID years of virtual gathering, Andrew and I were able to attend the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in Chicago last week. Donning masks and with many precautions being taken pre-event and during by the organizers, we felt about as safe as we could among 30,000+ global researchers, clinicians, pharma and biotech representatives, and patient advocates. We were all there to learn from each other and to hear about the latest developments in cancer treatments. Having been to ASCO numerous times in the past, I have to say this was THE most exciting from the standpoint of optimism and breakthrough news for all of us who are on a cancer journey – as a patient or a care partner. In the coming weeks, Patient Power will post many articles and video interviews that cover some of the most newsworthy findings from the conference, and Andrew and I have done a short perspective video on our key takeaways.
