Happy One Year Anniversary Blood Cancer Uncensored!

Today is the date that marks one year of Blood Cancer Uncensored as a website and Facebook Group and Page. Last Saturday, we held a ceremony and presented our founder, Adrian Warnock with the plaque pictured above.

Several of us shared kind words in tribute of the event. Things like, ‘Adrian, I quickly learned that you HAD to help, and promoting the TRUTH was job #1!’ and ‘I wouldn’t call it an understatement to say you’ve saved lives, and certainly prolonged them.’ and ‘Never, ever underestimate, nor ever doubt, the size of the contribution you have made to helping so many people…’

Blood Cancer Uncensored was born out of a friendly “get to know and support one another” WhatsApp group that Adrian started off of another blood cancer forum. And then within a few days in May of 2020, I, who was on Adrian’s original WhatsApp group remember the night that Blood Cancer Uncensored was conceived.

It was after 6pm my time…so after 11pm UK time. When Adrian gets an idea, he likes to share the idea. I must have gotten 50 texts that night. He told me about the idea and then he went to work. Within (I believe) two days, the website and Facebook group and pages were up and running. I am not sure if he rested much during that period of time. And the result was a beautiful, professional group for all people with blood cancer to hang out, talk about their fears, hopes, and to compare notes. But there was Always Adrian, reliable, consistent, and caring. He was constantly writing and posting helpful information about Covid and Blood Cancer Resources.

The weekly Zoom chat meetings were started a few weeks later, and, as he likes to remind me, he has always been there, week after week (except for one week!). Close friendships have been created and bonds that cannot be broken.

In short, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Blood Cancer Uncensored, and a very hearty THANK YOU to Adrian for taking this leap of faith, being the fearless leader, stepping into the exciting world of international support and being the friend of so many. Thank you, members for making us a GROUP. Many friendships have been born because of this wonderful group, and we will hope for many more years to come.
