Highlighting Fierce with Joy Blogger Susan Hartman during BCAM 2022

In honor of this year’s Blood Cancer Awareness Month, I spoke with Susan Hartman about her cancer journey and how she has embraced her circumstances with the goal of helping others.

Susan’s story not so different than any of us. She was going along normally, and then all of a sudden her body started malfunctioning. Susan’s life was shaken and stirred and flipped upside down in May of 2020 when she went to the hospital emergency room with severe breathing problems. Then came the lead balloon diagnosis: ALL (T-cell non-Hodgkins lymphoma) and treatment was imminent. She was admitted immediately and aggressively treated with chemo for one month, all during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Upon release, she was put on a 2-year maintenance of daily chemo which continues today but has a December of 2022 end-goal.

Susan has made lemonade from lemons as she has turned a dire situation into a level of support for the blood cancer community by sharing what she has learned on her incredible blog Fierce with Joy. Please watch the entire interview below and we look forward to seeing more from Susan as she shares with Blood Cancer Uncensored.
