How prayer helped me in my blood cancer journey

This website is run by a group of authors of various faith backgrounds. And I am always on the look out for new volunteers of all faiths or none. We are a community with different values and it is important to me that unlike a lot of other settings, here we are able to discuss anything that during our journey with blood cancer bothers us or blesses us. If I am brutally honest my own personal faith in Jesus comes into both groups.

Some say if you are never challenged, even annoyed by things you read in the Bible you clearly haven’t read it! But for me the one foundation of my life is following Jesus.

The last three and a half years my blood cancer journey has been all about walking with him through the turmoil, distress, anxiety, pain, loss, and general grief that blood cancer can bring in its wake.

I encourage you to have a look at this whatever your background is. As I say I am always on the look out for people who have a different faith background to share about how they have handled the challenges that a blood cancer diagnosis brings to us at the very core of our being: our sense of meaning and purpose.

Anyway, for all the times I have cried out in the night and asked Jesus why he isn’t answering my prayers the way I want him to, I have concluded that there simply is no place else for me to go than to sit at his feet and listen to what he says. Hence this series of articles on how Jesus wants ME to pray:
