This highly varied podcast focuses on the conversation about blood cancer and other forms of human suffering. It often discusses how to handle difficult emotions from a psychological, philosophical, and at times a theological, or religious perspective.
Adrian is a Christian but many of his guests are not, and he feels that there is much to learn from people of all faiths or none. Take for example the huge contribution to our understanding of mindfulness from Bhuddism. So much so that so that one podcast guest, a leading expert in blood cancer described himself as a Bhu-Jew.
Adrian is a medical doctor who worked in the UK’s NHS as a psychiatrist for eight years. He then worked in the pharmaceutical industry for fifteen years helping to run the clinical trials that bring us new medicines, and communicate the results. Adrian has a reputation for delivering complex messages simply in engaging articles, presentations, and interviews on podcasts, radio and TV.
Adrian was diagnosed with blood cancer in May 2017. He is the founder of Blood Cancer Uncensored, and has been featured on Patient Power. Adrian has written a Christian blog since 2003 at Patheos and is author of Hope Reborn and Raised with Christ. Adrian is a member of Jubilee Church London where he served on the leadership team for more than a decade. He is passionate about learning how to approach suffering with hope and compassion.
